This book is horrendous. It is beyond basic and tells you nothing. It is written for a general introduction to the material, but it is SO VAGUE that you don't actually get anything from it - "some states do x, others do y". It also has NUMEROUS grammatical errors (missing words, lack of parallel structure, awkward sentences, etc.) that make it even more difficult to read. When you look at the references for a chapter...there are about.com articles and random websites cited! It looks like the authors just did a google search for their information. I would get so angry while reading this text that I would have to pace myself so my already high blood pressure wouldn't skyrocket.If you have to read this book for a class, my sympathies. The ambiguity of the text means you end up having to look up the information pertinent to your state...so save your cash and go right to that.
